Tayside Contracts, through their sub-contractor Delson, will be undertaking resurfacing of some of our paths in Fife commencing on 28 September for around three weeks. They will be resurfacing the paths in three phases to mitigate the impact of the works on both pedestrians and cyclists, in particular users of the walkway.
Phase 1 - Newport Steps
West steps to Tay Street will be closed for resurfacing. Part of Tay Street will be on temporary traffic lights to support the works. Access to the bridge will be via the east steps during this phase.
Phase 2 - Underpass (culvert) to bridge walkway.
For health and safety reasons (dust, noise and moving machinery) we must temporarily close the walkway for a maximum of three days between the hours of 7am and 7pm. A free shuttle bus will be provided by Moffat and Williamson while the walkway is shut, which will be capable of transporting bicycles.
Phase 3 - Path from Fife car park to underpass
Path from the car park to the underpass will be closed for resurfacing. Access to the bridge will be via the west (Newport) steps.
