Essential work to repair the expansion joints on both carriageways will be carried out between 2nd February and 12th March 2010.

In order to minimise disruption to members of the public this work will be carried out under night time lane closures between the hours of 6:30pm and 6:30a.m. A 30mph speed restriction will be in place when the lane closures are implemented.

In addition to lane closures, full bridge closures will be required. Details of planned closures are given below.

Scheduled Bridge Closures

  

The Next Bridge Closure will be closed between 01:00hrs and 03:00hrs on Friday 12th March 2010.

This closure is essential to allow repairs to the carriageway expansion joints to be carried out.

The Tay Road Bridge Joint Board would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to the members of the public by these works.

 

High Wind Procedures

Standard procedures are applied during periods of high winds. Wind speeds are monitored and the restrictions are implemented at pre-determined thresholds.


The Restrictions and Thresholds are as follows:

45mph                 Bridge Closed to Double Decker Buses.

60mph                 Bridge Closed to all vehicles except Cars and Single Decker Buses.

                            Central Walkway Closed to Pedestrians and Cyclists.  

80mph                 Bridge Closed to all Vehicles. 

      

Other information Abolition of Tolls

Tolls were abolished on 11 February 2008.
