Article Updated 07/10/26 - Path Resurfacing in Fife

Update 07/10/26 -  Phase 1 and Phase 3 resurfacing is now complete and both paths are open for use.

Tayside Contracts, through their sub-contractor Delson, will be undertaking resurfacing of some of our paths in Fife commencing on 28 September for around three weeks. They will be resurfacing the paths in three phases to mitigate the impact of the works on both pedestrians and cyclists, in particular users of the walkway.

Phase 1 - Newport Steps COMPLETED

The West steps to Tay Street have now been resurfaced and the steps are open for use.

Phase 2 - Underpass (culvert) to bridge walkway - This will take place on 13,14 and 15 October as advertised

For health and safety reasons (dust, noise and moving machinery) we must temporarily close the walkway for a maximum of three days between the hours of 7am and 7pm. A free shuttle bus will be provided by Moffat and Williamson while the walkway is shut, which will be capable of transporting bicycles. The walkway will reopen to all users from 7pm to 7am.

Phase 3 - Path from Fife car park to underpass  COMPLETED

The path from the car park to the underpass has now been resurfaced and is open for use.

We apologise for the disruption as we carry out these path improvements. This webpage will be updated with progress updates.
